simpleTAB is a music notation program that outputs tablature. Tablature is a notation for stringed instruments in which the lines of the staff represent the strings of the instrument. Numbers on the staff represent where to play the notes on the fretboard. I will not go into a full description of tab, but this can be found in most guitar magazines available at your local bookstore.
My motivation for writing simpleTAB is that there is no other decent tablature notation program on the market for the Macintosh. Commercial programs are complex, and most require you to learn regular notation. Theyユre also extremely expensive. Freeware and shareware offerings, at least from what Iユve seen, are simply not good enough for everyday use.

simpleTAB version 1.0:
This is the first beta release of simpleTAB. I have released other versions before, but since then, the program has undergone a major rewriting. As a result, not only is the program more stable, but in the future, I should be able to upgrade it much more easily. simpleTAB is freeware. All I ask is that you get me good seats for the professional sporting team in your area on request(Itユs worth a shot isnユt it?). I also ask that you tell me whatユs wrong with simpleTAB, and how it screwed up your system(the author is not responsible for any data lost as a result of running simpleTAB)
Known problems:
・ tab windows can enlarge so that they are covered by the status bar at the bottom
・ menu items in window menu don't change correctly

I am constantly looking for suggestions to improve simpleTAB. Many of the suggestions I received in earlier versions have been used in version 1.0, and I hope to continue this trend. To report a bug, or to make a suggestion, contact me at:
